Welcome to SPEED Institute’s Adult Total Conditioning and sports training programs! The programs at SPEED Institute are designed to help you reach your athletic goal whether it be running a marathon or being functionally fit for everyday life. Our performance coaches are experts at bringing the best out our athletes and are motivated to help you attain a level of fitness enabling you to perform at peak performance at whatever activity in which you participate.
Adult Functional / Sport Training:
This hour long challenging program is designed to get you into great physical shape while increasing your overall functionality. These programs integrate balance, agility, full body strength, as well as aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. They are guaranteed to increase your fitness level and to help you meet your athletic goals. Our performance coaches use a variety of equipment such as medicine balls, sta-balls, kettlebells , and the reaction wall to keep the sessions exciting and fun while making you stronger, helping you to prevent injury, and get you looking good!
Strength Ball Core:
If your goal is to have 6 pack abs in addition to increasing your sports performance, this intense hour long core training program is for you. Nearly every athletic move involves your abdominal muscles. The muscles in the core stabilize the spine from the pelvis to the neck and shoulders allowing for the transfer of powerful movements of the arms and legs. All powerful movements originate for the center of the body out, never from the limbs alone. Training of the core also corrects postural imbalances that can lead to injury with one of the biggest benefits being substantial increases in functional fitness for sport and daily life. Kettlebells, Slam-balls, Bosus, and medicine balls are used in these sessions.
Tennis Conditioning :
Start putting some real power behind your shots. SPEED’s tennis conditioning program can work wonders for your game! This hour-long, high intensity program is designed to increase your speed, agility, core strength, and rotational power to help you move faster, play better and reduce your risk of injury. This program incorporates medicine balls, sta-balls, kettlebells and BOSUs for a great workout that will not only improve your game but get you into fantastic shape!
Crew Training:
These specialized small group sessions are designed for groups of 2 to 4 athletes. These sessions can be designed, for example, for team members trying to improve their sporting performance or more simply for a group of friends who enjoy training together. Crew training is a great way to get the benefits of more individualized instruction with the enjoyment and motivation of training within group.
Running Programs:
From Couch to 5k programs to advanced marathon training, our coaches can design a conditioning program to increase your performance on the road while helping to keep you injury free. These programs focus on performing multi-joint exercises such as lunges and squats as well as core-strengthening exercises to maintain proper running form. Programs incorporate medicine balls and stability balls and exercises to increase pelvic stability to increase power at push off, increase eccentric strength leading to substantial improvement in performance.
Triathlon Programs:
With the increasing popularity of triathlons we have seen an increased need for strength training geared towards this event. A challenging speed/plyometric/core program is an integral part of the athlete’s power and force development which is often neglected in multi-sport training. This program is a great way to introduce variety to the long-base training sessions and important for reducing the chance of injury during intensive training.
Family Workout:
SPEED’s innovative family fitness programs help both parents and children get their hearts pumping and their muscles working! We use a variety of sports drills and games as well as circuit and strength training so all members are guaranteed a great workout! The program focuses on progressive aerobic conditioning, strength, coordination, and flexibility tailored to the skills and abilities of your family members. There is no better way to teach your children the importance of physical fitness than by joining them for a little fun, family competition on the training floor!
Competition Ready:
For the athlete wanting to unleash their true potential in competition, our performance coaches can individually tailor a plan to guide you right up to the day of your event. Our competition ready package includes sport specific strength and conditioning, nutritional assessment/counseling and skill training to insure that you are in peak condition and primed to perform your best in competition.
One on One Training :
Athletes meet with their performance coach on an individual basis to reach specifically targeted sports or fitness goals. These goals can range from improving your personal best in a triathlon to becoming more fit to chase your toddlers around the playground.
SPEED Institute's National Service Training program is specifically designed
to address the needs of NSmen looking to increase their physical fitness and
improve their performance on IPPT stations. Each class focuses on building
the cardiovascular fitness as well as the muscular strength required to
attain a passing score. Participants are assessed upon entering the program
on the IPPT specific stations and then trained in a supervised group program
to increase their performance levels.
