This screen, performed by a board-certified physiotherapist, is used to identify muscular imbalances, ascertain variations or limitations in movement patterns/ range of motion and to identify potential risks for injury with increased activity levels. This information is then used to determine the appropriate exercise prescription to address the findings.

If a current injury has curtailed your training, our physiotherapist can assess the problem area and prescribe a rehabilitative exercise program. Our physiotherapist will also provide specific guidelines to your SPEED trainer so your individual program is designed safely around your injured area. The ability to continue training will prevent the overall deconditioning that often occurs during the recovery phase from injury.

The initial nutrition consultation is performed by our Registered Dietitian and includes a complete evaluation of your dietary habits. This information is used to identify potential deficiencies in your diet, the effects of your diet on energy levels, meal timing and composition, as well as suitability of your diet for the support of an exercise program and its increased energy demands.

Nutritional strategies/plans to help you reach your body weight goal are also examined. SPEED’s dietitian can assist you in understanding your metabolic needs whether your goal is weight loss, weight maintenance or building muscle mass. SPEED also provides individualized meal plans tailored to your specific caloric requirements to ensure your dietary plan is optimal in supporting your wellness goals.
