Welcome to SPEED Institute’s youth total conditioning and sports training programs! Performance Coaches at SPEED Institute use the latest in technology and training techniques coupled with sound motivational support to bring the best out of your developing athlete. The programs at SPEED are designed to improve speed, strength, endurance, agility, coordination and power to establish and refine solid fundamental athletic skills from which to build a lifelong enjoyment of sport, recreation and physical activity.





Athletic Development:
Pre-SPEED programs introduce young athletes to the fundamental components of athleticism in a fun, dynamic and encouraging environment . Between the ages of 7 and 12 is the most critical period for motor skill development when the foundation is established for future athletic endeavors. SPEED programs for this age group focus on movement rather than muscle growth. Increasing agility, reactivity, coordination, and balance are key goals of this program using a variety of equipment such as our state-of-the-art reaction wall, obstacle courses, and agility ladders.

Total Conditioning I and II:
Total conditioning programs are designed for athletes and aspiring athletes 12 to 17 years old. The classes focus on training athletes from sports such as soccer, tennis, swimming, baseball, and rugby as well as providing a general fitness component for those aspiring athletes aiming to increase their overall athleticism or physical fitness. These conditioning programs aim to physically and mentally prepare the athlete for the rigors of sport and physical exercise significantly reducing their risk of injury. Increases in the secondary components of fitness such as speed, agility, power and quickness are the key goals of this program. Class placement is determined by instructor evaluation.

Girls Only Conditioning:
Our Girls Only class will cover the same parameters as our total conditioning programs. The program will focus on training for general fitness as well as increasing overall athleticism. Female athletes and aspiring athletes are afforded the opportunity to increase their level of sport performance as well as become more physically fit in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.

Skills Enhancement Program:
SPEED Institute’s Skills Enhancement program emphasizes the development and refinement of fundamental movement skills in a fun, dynamic and supportive environment. SPEED coaches are dedicated to fostering an encouraging and motivating experience for students who might otherwise feel hesitant or discouraged when participating in physical activity.

With the assistance of an occupational and physical therapist, SPEED’s Skills Enhancement programs have been designed to improve sensory integration using activities to stimulate vestibular sense for better balance reactions, improve visual skills for better focusing and tracking as well as improve proprioceptive skills for better muscle control and force of movement.

SPEED Coaches utilize a variety of age appropriate equipment such as cones, ladders, and agility rings as well as our state of the art lighted reaction wall in the Skills Enhancement sessions. Game based activities are used often to promote a fun, friendly and reassuring learning experience. Session are one-hour in length.





Crew Training:

These specialized small group sessions are designed for groups of 2 to 4 athletes. These training sessions can be position specific ie. baseball pitchers who want to train specifically for their position or for a group of like-minded friends or family members who would like to train together for the fun and competition of training in a group environment with an individualized program.

Family Workout:
SPEED’s innovative family fitness programs help both parents and children get their hearts pumping and their muscles working! We use a variety of sports drills and games as well as circuit and strength training so all members are guaranteed a great workout! The program focuses on progressive aerobic conditioning, strength, coordination, and flexibility tailored to the skills and abilities of your family members. There is no better way to teach your children the importance of physical fitness than by joining them for a little fun, family competition on the training floor!





One on One Training :

Athletes meet with their performance coach on an individual basis to reach their specifically targeted sports and fitness goals. These goals can range from increasing your vertical jump to improve your basketball game to ensure getting stronger and better fit to have more fun!
